The US government has given Chevron and four oil service providers permission to keep operating in Venezuela for at least another three months, despite urging businesses around the world to cut their ties with the regime of President Nicolás Maduro.
The Treasury said on Friday that Chevron — along with Halliburton, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes and Weatherford International — could continue to work in Venezuela until October 25.
